SURRENDER
Have you ever seen (or been) a child who is doing what is expected of them, but not with a willing heart? They may have been told to sit down, but on the inside they are still standing up. They are muttering things under their breath, and they have a stinking attitude toward the person they are minding, and their body language is all defiance. Would you call this surrender? Submission?
What does the word “surrender” mean to you?
When you say surrender, my first thought is of total abandonment to God. To me, surrender means giving up complete control; not because it is demanded, but willingly. Biblically surrender and submission are synonymous. I am just an all-or-nothing kind of gal. To be quite honest God is the only one I am willing to surrender to. Remember that hymn, I Surrender All ?
All to Jesus, I surrender.
All to Him I freely give.
I will ever love and trust Him.
In His presence daily live.
I surrender all.
I surrender all.
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
I love to do word studies, so I looked up the word surrender in the original Webster’s 1828 Dictionary and this is what it said:
SURREN'DER, v.t. [L. sursum, and rendre, to render.]
1. To yield to the power of another.
2. To yield; to give up; as, to surrender a right or privilege.
3. To give up.
YIELD, v.t.
1. To allow; to concede; to admit to be true; as, to yield the point in debate. We yield that there is a God.
2. To surrender; as, to yield up a fortress.
ABAN'DON v.t. - To give up or resign without control, as when a person yields himself, without restraint.
Surrender is not a word to be used lightly. As believers, we must always remember that the enemy takes our words very literally, and holds us to them. So be careful who and what you surrender yourself to.

You did this for me. Thank you so very much suzy.......I can't tell you how wrong I've been.
I think you already know.
I copied this, I hope you don't mind, and added it to my prayers. Are there more words to the song?
And what is the tune? I might be able to find it on the web.
Hugs and Love and surrender to him.
Stephanie
I walked the long aisle of a church one day, a long time ago, to that very song. It still causes me to choke up when I hear it. Good song!! Bless you, Kathy
Great words of wisdom...thanks for sharing. It's so awesome to see the revelations the Lord gives each and every one of us if we're willing to listen. It's obvious to me that you listen. God bless,
Mitzi
Good reminder to be completely surrendered to God... every aspect of my life. Many years ago, I surrendered to do whatever God would have me to do... But I believe that we should "die daily" by taking up our cross every day for Christ as it says in the gospels. Very good reminder to me. Thanks for the blessing.
Wonderful post and I love that song I surrender all. There was a little girl having a yard sale today all the proceeds were for Diabetes Foundation. Her mom kept bragging on how the yard sale was her idea (she said no it wasn't) I told her it was a wonderful idea to do something so nice for someone else. She said I don't have a choice. I told her that she would have been more blessed and more of a blessing if she was there truly to help those people out.
Hope that you are having a wonderful weekend and thanks for being a blessing.
Love ya, Darlena
