  • SPRING CLEANING

Today we are all meeting at my mother-in-law's house to do her Spring cleaning. With 5 of us working in separate rooms it won't take long. I asked for the kitchen mainly because I wanted to be the one to hand wash her teacup collection and other pretties... At breakfast this morning hubby said if he wasn't needed on a job, he'd stop by and help me clean out the fridge.  One of the advantages of  working an on call job. During the slow season he has some free time.... When that man gets a hold of your fridge it is clean! Happy Thursday y'all!

Well, it ended up being a busy day for hubby so he barely had time to drop by and pull out the  fridge so I could vaccuum behind it and remove what was left of the light bulb that broke off in the ceiling fan.  But his heart was in the right place... and my MiL was pleased as punch when we all cleared out mid afternoon leaving her with a clean house. We'll do it again in the Fall.

  • Lovely background!! spring cleaning that is what I need to do and clean out those closets too!! well it wont be long you be at the beach!! Have a good day!

  • I've had the hankering to do some spring cleaning, just not time to do it!!!  But I'd let your hubby clean the refrigerator any day!

    Have a fun time @ your MIL's.

  • I know Bill will be happy to have all the help.

Spring cleaning is what I am trying to do.

James is home.  Don't you know Jamie is bouncing off the walls.  Brings back memories.

    The diet is going.

    Have fun.

  • A husband who cleans the frig - GIRL - you better keep him!!!  I don't have a drawer, closet, cabinet, etc that doesn't need some attention by me.  What I don't seem to have the enough time to get it done.  By the time I get home I don't wanna do anything.  It would help if I'd just take 30 min and do a drawer at a time.  That way I've progressed and it didn't hurt too bad!!!  lol  This might be what my mother would say about cutting off a dog's tail an inch at a time so it wouldn't hurt as much!!!  lol

  • @sattsue - Yep. He's a KEEPER all right.   My house needs a deep cleaning too, but I'm waiting to tackle it until we get the windows replaced.... Hopefully the end of March.

  • that is such a neat idea!
I'll have to run it by the girls at church,
Besides bringing meals we could have a clenaing house party when someone is ill

  • @broncomom - It was my SiL's idea.

  • that's so cool that ya'll are taking care of her so thouroughly.

  • Since you don't know the people where we live I'll tell you what these people did for us.  They would vaccuum, clean the restrooms, organize the food that came through, take out the trash, etc after the accident.  My sister told me that when we left the house it was a crazy quick once over by our friends. One lady called 2 days after the funeral and just kept asking if there was something she could do.  After the 3rd or 4th time I told her our laundry needed to be done.  She came and picked it up and did a MUCH better job than I do.  She even ironed my pj's!!!  I have lots of ideas if you have sick friends, church members, neighbors who need an extra touch.  Just ask me.
