  • SAME OL' SAME OL'

I haven't updated in awhile  because nothing new has been happening at my house lately. Since I finally got my body back to Texas time my days have been pretty much the same day in and day out.  Hard to believe this time last year we didn't know we were moving here yet....

I have been staying home and focusing on my house, a new flowerbed and losing weight. I've spent my days nesting, planning menus, preparing healthy meals, sifting through the newly tilled soil for weed and grass roots or gravel, exercising, and trying to drink my daily allotment of water. Hubby has been picking up things at the store for me so I've really had a chance to enjoy being home and focus on getting healthy and active. (The last time I took Muffin walking I wore her out and had to carry her the rest of the way home.) I started counting calories and exercising 6 weeks ago and so far have met my goal of losing at least a pound a week. Course we won't talk about that one that I gained and lost 3 times before it stayed off! Or how stiff and sore I was when I started using muscles I forgot I had again. Still miss Curves but making the best of it....

We have had more really windy days than not lately that has prevented me from making the kind of progress I'd like in my new flowerbed. So I was happy to get the music for a new slide show for Easter at church last night.... now I have something creative to do while its so windy besides think up new ways to cook chicken.

  • it may be same ol, same ol, but it looks like a good same ol, same ol!

i felt like i wasn't losing weight..then i looked on the wii fit's chart...and the loss has been so slow & steady, i've been missing it!

course, i've been gaining muscle, too... and losing weight in weird places, like my ankle, hands, and under the arms... ;) !!!

  • @ehrinn_l - Slow and steady they say, and muscle DOES weigh more than flab. My tape measure is kinder than my scale these days.

  • Same ol, same ol can be a great blessing!

  • @pettybunch - YES it has been! I'm so thankful the Lord gave me this season of down time with no stressful responsibilities.
