Saturday was a wonderful day as we drove about half a day South to attend a wedding.

It was fun to have hubby all to myself with a reason to get dressed up and take special care with my hair and make up, not to mention reconnecting with that part of the family. We stopped at a steakhouse with an outstanding salad bar on the way there for lunch and skipped supper for the wedding reception. We ALMOST won the anniversary dance. We're working on 32 years, but got beat out by the bride's maternal grandparents at 52 years. Somehow we managed to
not get any full length photos of us in our wedding finery.

Things were still going strong when we left at ten for our room. Here's a photo of me and the father of the bride (this is the brother I wasn't raised with) :

The groom is in the Coast Guard and stationed in Hawaii so they had an island themed wedding. The dresses were turquoise and the flowers were tropical colors like you would find in a lei.... pink, yellow and touches of red. Instead of a traditional white cake they had a cupcake pyramid in the same tropical colors. One of my favorite parts was at the end of the ceremony when the groomsmen pulled leis out of their pockets and put them on the bridesmaids and then donned sunglasses before departing the stage. Turns out this was a surprise the best man thought up. Too cute! I'll try to snag some of the pics once they are posted to share, if the bride's family doesn't mind.
We met my brother and his family for Sunday brunch then planned to visit the American Airpower Heritage Museum that afternoon. Well, turns out they all changed their hours, from what is posted online or in the travel guide, so we ended up spending the afternoon driving home instead. Hubby was sure disappointed. He has talked about seeing these planes for years. It was a disappointing end to what began as a delightful weekend.
This morning I feel like I have molasses in my veins cuz I am moving in slow motion. It would be SO EASY to just go back to bed for awhile,

but I'm keeping my almost 21 month old nephew today. He always keeps me moving ~ such a fun age!

Frustrating about the disappointment at the end, but what a wonderful thing it is to have hubby to yourself for the drive to and from! I always tell Bill that I enjoy that more than just about anything, because he is a captive audience!
Have fun with your nephew!
Tell us about the wedding. Keep your fingers crossed and the prayers going. we see the cancer dr. at 3.
David and Mac sure look alike. You look good in that color of green.
Saw the cancer dr.. He is in either stage 3 or 4 depending on if it is in the bone. He has a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow and is scheduled for several big tests. The dr. hopes to get the tests done this week so he can start chemo next week. Have to wait for the insurance to approve them. Ken is in good spirits and does not look sick. Later.
You and your man are a good looking couple. Where was the steak house? I've heard of several downstate. We passed by one on our trip, actually, we've passed it 6 times this summer, but it is only open on the weekend.
@sattsue - Andrews... Something or another Grill.
The steakhouse we've passed this summer is east of Vernon.
