  • FIGHTING LYMPHOMA

My oldest brother, Ken saw the oncologist Monday and the doctor confirmed that he is in either stage 3 or 4 of Hodgkin's Lymphoma, depending on if it is in the bone yet.  Right now it is in a majority of his lymph nodes and his spleen. He has a bone marrow biopsy today and is scheduled for several other big tests this week.... just waiting for the insurance to approve them first.  On top of everything else he needs a couple of stints. Hopefully he'll wind up testing this week so he can start chemo next week; they are talking three rounds. I am told Ken is in good spirits and does not look sick. Mostly right now he is just very tired and having trouble sleeping. I'd appreciate it if you'd add him and his family to your prayer list. Visit my SiL's blog to leave him words of encouragement.

  • One of my uncles had Lymphoma, although I was pretty young when he was going through it so I don't know any details.  He was a blessed survivor - had many, many great years after his treatment.  He used to get teased, though, because after treatments, he only sweated on one side of his face/head, so anytime he ate anything hot, his left side would sweat, and his right side would be dry as a bone!

Just want you all to know I am lifting your brother up right now.

  • I am praying right now and will add your brother to my prayerlist.

  • I'm praying for your brother too!

  • "just waiting for the insurance to approve them first." That's disgusting. I am SO tired of the healthcare systems! (No, it's not better in Canada. Yes, it's free and/or cheaper, but there are still the long waits, the things they DON'T cover, etc.) -sigh- But it's a huge monster and God will heal us if it's in His plans, so we shouldn't worry too much. Life is life and God is in control.

  • i'm praying for your brother - my brother-in-law has beaten back his lymphoma with medical treatment and lots of prayer - cures are possible and God will provide - i'll keep praying for all.

  • Ken is just such an awesome guy and I'm so glad I got to meet him a few years back.  Praying for him!!
