SEWING
This is going to be a fun week.
My youngest niece turns 6 this time next week and her mom asked me to help her redecorate her bedroom for her birthday. This is right down my alley as I've often dreamed of being an interior designer.
So yesterday we spent the day shopping for fabric and accessories to coordinate with the Tinkerbell bedspread she had picked out. The challenge was to stay kid friendly and girlie without breaking the bank. We decided to mix it up a bit and go with flowers and butterflies, not just Tinkerbell. My SiL and I both sew, so we divided the projects. We'll do our sewing while she is in school and then next Monday we'll put it all together. PTL for an uncle who is painting furniture!
Today I am happily immersed in shades of lime and butterflies, ribbons and beads as I am making the canopy/drape for her bed. Just hope it turns out as cute as it looks in my head!

wow, that sounds so beautiful! i hope you post pictures f your work... and of her face when it's all put together!
How much fun! I was able to buy Arulai (my grandbaby in Minnesota) the beginnings of her big-girl bedroom stuff, plus I painted some wooden letter spelling her name for her wall - complete with butterflies and flowers! I also sew, but it takes way too much time with life interuptions I have going on right now!
I know your design will look as good in reality as it does in your head!!
Sounds delightful and so pretty. She'll be so excited
Actually I was inspired by the drape on Bri's bed.
Can't wait to see how it turns out. will be looking for pics.
